Mukhtar: The Avenger of Hazrat Hussain( R.A)

Al-Mukhtar ibn Abi Ubayd al-Thaqafi was a man of courage and faith, who believed that God had chosen him to retaliate the blood of Hazrat Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH0. He was born in a noble lineage, but he didn't watch for worldly power or wealth. He watched only for justice and verity, and he followed the training of Ali, the kinsman and son- in- law of the Prophet. He was pious to Muhammad ibn al- Hanafiyya, a son of Ali, whom he considered to be the due leader of the Muslims. When Hazrat Hussain was killed by the dictator Yazid in Karbala, Mukhtar was locked by the governor of Kufa, who stressed his influence. He escaped from captivity with the help of his musketeers, and he gathered an army of pious sympathizers, substantially from the oppressed and marginalized groups of society. He declared himself as the representative of Muhammad ibn al- Hanafiyya, and he fought against the adversaries of the Alids, the descendants of Hazrat Ali. He conquered Kufa and Basra, and he established a fair and just rule. He also transferred his agents to hunt down and kill the perpetrators of Hussain's butchery, fulfilling his oath of vengeance. still, his success was short- lived, as he faced opposition from other coalitions who claimed the caliphate. He was ultimately defeated and killed by Mus'ab ibn al- Zubayr, who had the support of numerous Arabs. Mukhtar failed as a fatality, but his heritage lived on. He inspired numerous generations of Muslims. He also left behind a rich history and culture, which was depicted in a television series called Mokhtarnamah.
